This profile is part of the Glossy Pop Guide to Influencer-Founded Brands, covering the fashion, beauty and wellness companies started by people who built their careers on social media.  More from the series →

As a former model, influencer Jess Hunt knows a thing or two about being in front of a camera. Best known for her slicked-back hair, bushy-brow look and minimalist photo backdrops, Hunt has earned millions of Instagram followers. According to Hunt, consistency and developing her own visuals were the biggest contributors to her current success. In 2020, she released her brand, Refy, which quickly gained a cult following. Hunt based Refy on her own beauty, fashion and photography inspirations, keeping it simple, innovative and inclusive. Refy’s Brow Sculpt was the winner of the 2021 U.K. Cosmopolitan Summer Beauty Awards.

Who: Jess Hunt, Refy

Platform: Instagram

What are you known for & how did you get your start?
I am known for being a fashion and beauty influencer. I love sharing looks I wear as well as my beauty must-haves! I grew my following by being visually consistent with the content I share, in terms of my style and aesthetic, and by posting frequently across both stories and my Instagram grid.

What’s the brand: Makeup

Find it: www.refybeauty.com, Sephora.com, select Sephora stores

Why did you decide to bring a brand into this crowded marketplace?
I was using around five different eyebrow products every day just to achieve the brow look I was happy with, so I decided to simplify this process by creating a three-step brow process. REFY is all about simplifying beauty.

What makes the brand different?
Innovation is at the heart of the brand, and we will only ever create problem-solving products that we feel the beauty industry is missing and that our customers are calling out for.

Fun fact: REFY’s first collection sold out within six weeks of launch.

Best seller: Brow Sculpt Shape and Hold Gel with Lamination Effect
