A couple of years ago, BuzzFeed put Who What Wear editorial director Kat Collings in a listicle about the best Instagrammers in fashion. Her following soared from a few hundred to over 10,000.

Today, Collings, who oversees editorial for website Who What Wear, has over 14,000 followers and an Instagram presence that gives you a glimpse at how she spends her time. We asked Collings to pick five of her recent Instagram photos to tell us what being a fashion director is like.

Moschino in L.A.
“I love that an increasing number of designers are choosing to have runway shows in Los Angeles. The recent Moschino show was a blast, with a very Instagrammable set filled with inflatable creatures. I shot my very first Facebook Live video from my seat at the show, and it was cool to see our readers’ instant reactions in real time.”

If you’ve got it, flaunt it @moschino

Miami Swim Week
“I recently attended my first Miami Swim Week with Matches Fashion. Matches held an intimate dinner at Mandolin (absolutely delicious, if you have the chance to go) with influencers and resort and swim designers. The night was picture-perfect, with everyone connecting over the fresh Mediterranean food and then going out dancing into the late hours of the night. I was there to interview the influencers as the press partner, but I made sure to get at least one killer beach shot before leaving.”

Personalization
“A big part of my job is attending press events, and lately it seems like a lot of brands are into customization, whether it’s monogramming or patching. Denim line 3×1 released some darling patches and invited press to come customize a denim jacket. There were so many cute patches that it was hard to choose—the dancing girl is my favorite though. I secretly adore crafts, so I hope the trend keeps going.”

Modeling the WhoWhatWear and Target collection
“Who What Wear has an ongoing collection at Target that our co-founders design along with help from a couple other editors and myself. This photo is from when our editors, including yours truly, got to model for the summer lookbook. There are some hilarious outtakes of our creative director hitting us with the wind machine, but I ’grammed the polished final version.”

Testing trends for the site
“Over four years ago, I started a Who What Wear series called Trend Trial where I test trends IRL. We just rebooted the series with our new in-house photographer, and I’m so excited to see where it goes. In this one, I’m testing out the bell-sleeve trend with a Who What Wear collection top that retails for only $25—I’ve worn all three colors, and I think everyone should buy one!”

Trend Trial is officially back link in bio to see how I test out the bell sleeve trend. Ps: my top is @whowhatwear collection and is $25. Get on it!
