Dec 3, 2018

The Glossy 50 honors the year’s biggest changemakers across fashion and beauty. More from the series →

It’s been a transformative year for the fashion and beauty industries: Direct-to-consumer brands moved further into traditional-brand territory, streetwear and luxury became increasingly intertwined, and wellness’s impact on beauty became apparent industrywide. At the same time, widespread movements toward authenticity, transparency, sustainability and diversity took shape, forcing strategic updates across departments, at brands across the board.

In our second annual Glossy 50 list, we’re honoring the industry insiders responsible for driving these important shifts. They include a fashion veteran building a circular fashion brand, an influencer helping beauty companies cater to more skin tones, a beauty brand vp leading the charge for ingredient laws and Alessandro Michele’s right-hand man.

Over the next five days, we’ll highlight their contributions to pushing the fashion and beauty industries forward. To see the first batch of honorees, representing Beauty’s New Guard, click here.
