This year’s Glossy Fashion Awards highlight key stories of growing businesses working tirelessly to reach millennials and Gen Z — critical audiences whose values differ sharply from previous generations. Rather than strictly basing their purchases on style, younger consumers also want to know where fashion brands fit into the world around them. At the top of that list are questions about sustainability, transparency and technology.
This year’s shortlist spotlights the importance of having the right founder, sustainable business practices and savvy tech partners. All are essential ingredients for a fashion brand that has the ability to not only make a splash, but also remain at the forefront of consumers’ minds — and shopping lists.
Another Tomorrow, a luxury brand that prides itself on its sustainability-centered operations, is in the running for Best Sustainability Initiative. The brand has done more than pay lip service to environmental causes; it’s the first luxury fashion brand to receive B Corp certification, a designation for a company that balances profits with social responsibility.
Fashionphile, a luxury-focused retail company that seeks to disrupt the consignment industry, is nominated for Best Omnichannel Experience and Best Resale Site for its ability to deliver white-glove concierge service to its remote customers. With virtual appointments, pick-up service and the ability to sell items for close to their original purchase price, Fashionphile has cracked the code for delivering turnkey, seamless resale experiences.
Rebag is nominated for Best Use of Technology, Best Resale Site and Fashion Retailer of the Year. Setting itself apart from other resale sites, Rebag leverages AI to appraise bags in seconds with 91% accuracy. And its sellers are paid upfront, which is a gamechanger for casual to avid luxury sellers. As for the buyers, they can shop with confidence, knowing the purchase they’re about to make is based on objective technology.
Additionally, each of the three companies are nominated for Founder of the Year, a category that acknowledges the entrepreneurial spirit at the heart of a business’s strength.
On June 17, winners of this year’s Glossy Fashion and Glossy Beauty Awards will be revealed via the 2021 Glossy Awards, presented by Gorgias. Register here to join the announcement.
