Julia Berolzheimer started the blog Gal Meets Glam as a college student in 2011 and quickly grew a following during the early years of Instagram. Seeing a lack of affordable, classic and feminine dresses on the market, she launched the Gal Meets Glam clothing brand in 2018. Since then, Gal Meets Glam has transformed into a lifestyle brand, now called Parterre, with an emphasis on slow fashion.

Platform: Instagram

Why did you decide to bring a brand into this crowded marketplace?

I wanted to create a brand that moved slowly and only introduced new products when we felt necessary. We are the antithesis of fast fashion. My co-founder and I feel we have a unique point of view in a crowded industry, we take the time to obsess over every detail of our products.

What makes the brand different?

I co-founded the brand with my close friend, Hanna Seabrook. She’s a print and graphic designer so all of our patterns, embroidery and prints are one of a kind and created specifically for our products.

Fun fact to know?

Most of our products are handmade.
