On Wednesday, Glossy Pop will host its second Beauty Pop event in Los Angeles. Similar to the inaugural event, the opportunity brings together founders, influencers and executives in the beauty industry for a day full of roundtable discussions, motivating panels and networking. This year, participants will hear from Hollywood A-listers such as Gabrielle Union, well-known influencers-turned-founders like Deepica Mutyala and Brooklyn and Bailey McKnight, and founders on the rise, including Danessa Myricks and Andrew Fitzsimons.

Panel discussions will focus on topics including navigating social media and connecting with the Gen-Z audience, based on social media becoming a main focus of brands’ marketing strategies — and for good reason. In 2023, TikTok reached 1.92 billion users, a 16% increase from 2022, and it’s predicted to have at least 2 billion users by the end of 2024, according to research from social media management platform Hootsuite. Meanwhile, analysts predict that Instagram will have 1.44 billion monthly active users by 2025.

A strong social media presence, buzzy campaigns and influencer collaborations can have a big impact on a brand’s bottom line. But it’s important that brands execute their strategies with authenticity and strong brand messaging. At this year’s Beauty Pop event, through on-stage discussions, we’re spotlighting brands that are using these tactics and effectively resonating with consumers.

Take beauty brand Danessa Myricks Beauty (251,200 TikTok followers) and hair-care brand Tangle Teezer (112,900 TikTok followers). Both brands have experienced their fair share of virality, but their authentic and consistent presence on social media has helped catapult their growth. In February, Danessa Myrics Beauty revealed it provided the makeup products for this year’s Super Bowl performance with Usher. And due to its recent success, Tangle Teezer shared that it has hired bankers to explore new investment opportunities. Other featured brands that have seen their social media presence grow will include wellness brand Liquid IV, personal grooming brand Meridian and beauty membership service Ipsy.
