This profile is part of the Glossy Pop Guide to Influencer-Founded Brands, covering the fashion, beauty and wellness companies started by people who built their careers on social media.  More from the series →

Known for her body acceptance advocacy, Iskra Lawrence started out as a model at the age of 14. After being signed to Aeria in 2014, she used her platform to make brands aware of their harmful retouching practices. Lawrence was the first model in the Aerie Real campaign, which aims to highlight body diversity and destigmatize natural features. In 2021, Lawrence created her own body-care brand, Saltair. Saltair stands on four principles: inclusivity, effectiveness, sustainability and transparency. Each product, from body scrub to deodorant, is intended to help users feel comfortable in their own skin. Saltair is vegan, paraben-free, gluten-free and cruelty-free.

Who: Iskra Lawrence (Saltair)

Platforms: Instagram, TikTok

What are you known for & how did you get your start?
I’m known for being a body acceptance advocate and encouraging brands to go unretouched and take responsibility for their impact on body image. I was the first Aerie real role model and helped the brand grow to a billion-dollar business in 7 years. [I was also the] first curve model to walk for L’Oréal in Paris fashion week.

What’s the brand: Body care

Find it: WWW.SALTAIR.COM

What makes the brand different?
Saltair brings skin care-inspired ingredients to body care, with fragrances that are so evocative, you can switch them up depending on your mood. Each of the seven body washes also has a unique focus, in terms of one’s skin care needs, so you can choose your product based on skin concern, too. Each of the body washes in the initial launch is $12. Inclusivity and sustainability have been a focus since day one, and the painted aluminum bottles are very unique to the brand.

Fun Fact: We put skin-care ingredients typically used in facial serums into a body wash. The first time I tried it and left it in the shower, my baby tried to eat it because it smelled so good.

Best seller: Santal Bloom Serum Body Wash
